Yearly Kos Video: Building the Progressive Youth Movement
No thanks to C-SPAN (who has what must be the Worst. Scheduling system. Ever.) I managed to snag most of my Yearly Kos Panel off of the DVR. Apologies to Ivan, whose presentation got cut in half, and Shauna, who I had to cut off in the middle of her last sentence due to YouTube's time constraints. I wasn't able to get my introduction either, which sucks, but this is better than nothing. It's also completely bizarre that both the Yearly Kos Convention and C-SPAN kept crediting me as Michael Connery: Music for America. I haven't worked there in almost 3 years . . .
I have no idea why the videos are all funky for the first 5 seconds. Chalk it up to my amateur editing skills.
For more info and discussion on the panel, check out this diary I wrote over on Daily Kos.

The end of Ivan's speech...
I believe he started to talk about all of his regrets about how GCI doesn't pay all of the young people who work for them the minimum wage, or was it about his thoughts on all of the damage that the "progressives" at GCI have done to recruiting for "higher level" recruitment do to the bad taste GCI leaves in almost everyone's mouths that works for them. I'm just kidding- nobody at GCI ever admits to being wrong or to any of the terrible things that they do!
Here's hoping that GCI gets pulled into the Fund class action law suit. At least the Fund has announced that they will now pay people minimum wages, won't force them to work overtime, will let their staff know when they are on "volunteer time" and will actually reimburse their employees for work-related expenses.
But, don't forget, GCI is more cost effective! Paying employees puts such a pinch on the bottom line! And it's not like Dems stand for employee rights anyway- that is soooooo 1940s.
C-SPAN and YouTube
Heading into YK, I thought C-SPAN was dead set against people posting their video to YouTube?
Also, you catch half my head in one shot at 2:04 in the Matt Singer video.

Takedown
If they ask me to take it down, I will. Until then, happy share. Not everyone can afford to spend $1000 to go to Yearly Kos.
are you serious? it really
are you serious? it really costs that much? no way... seriously?? I couldn't go cause I already took too much vacation but I had no idea tickets were that much or are you talking about total hotel/air/ticket stuff?
Package
ticket, hotel, etc. Probably $1000 or so. I don't fully know since I got in for free as a speaker/moderator and my office covered the plain fare.
